After the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Japanese Government to postpone the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games for next year, Claro Sports and Marca Claro announced that they will have, without any change, the event pay TV and digital platforms broadcasting rights on the new date determined to celebrate them. The coverage will be developed for 17 Latin American countries.
‘At Claro Sports we will continue to prepare ourselves to offer the best experience to the audience, who will be able to access more than a thousand hours of live events, special programs and replays of the best events of the Tokyo Olympic Games’, reported Claro Sports. From Marca Claro they also expressed themselves about the event broadcast, and explained that they will have for the audience “more than 4 thousand live hours, which represents all the sporting events. Viewers on the digital platform will decide if they want to access the competitions live, on demand, only the medals presentation or the best moments of the day, even in short formats for social networks’.
Apart from that, all content will be available on the Marca Claro website and its YouTube official account. Linear and on-demand content will also be offered through Clarovideo. After postponing the competition, the IOC reported that the next edition of the Olympic Games will be held between July 23rd and August 8th, 2021.
