GolTV confirms it will continue paying the Ecuadorian Football League’s TV broadcasting rights

The pay TV channel GolTV, which owns the broadcasting rights for the Pro League, the name given to the Ecuadorian Professional Football League, reported through an official statement that it will continue paying the competition’s broadcasting rights to the football clubs that are part of it despite the fact that the tournament is now cancelled due to the advance of the Coronavirus pandemic.

‘GolTV will continue to fulfill all its commitments, awaiting a close return to club training and the consequent resumption of the National Championship in all its terms. These are complicated times for everyone, but the population and the football family must be more united than ever. We work to achieve a single Ecuador, for a sanitary, sporting and economic Fair Play’, reported the channel.

To date, Costa Rica is the only country in Latin America that resumed its Professional Football League with broadcasts in charge of Tigo Sports and FUTV, after it was postponed by the Coronavirus. Days ago, German football also took the same initiative through the return of the Bundesliga, which airs for Latin America on ESPN and Fox Sports.
