Televisa has recently announced that Sky México (Televisa and AT&T) has run a two-year agreement with the Bundesliga (German Professional Football League), to broadcast the competition, both in the First and Second Division, in Mexico and Central America.
The agreement, which started to be implemented with the current Bundesliga season, allows Sky Mexico to broadcast all the competition matches (more than 100 of them exclusively), the German Super Cup and the Promotion and Relegation matches at the end of each season. As officially reported from the official Bundesliga website, Sky will broadcast the competition in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama and the Dominican Republic. In addition, last week, Claro Sports announced that it will broadcast the German Football League in several Latin American countries, and OneFootball and Band Sports will do so in Brazil. In addition, Flow Sports is also broadcasting the football competition in several countries in Central and North America.
Apart from that, Sky Mexico will launch a new TV channel focused on the coverage of the Bundesliga, which will broadcast its matches and programs dedicated to the competition, such as the Bundesliga ‘Weekly Show’, which will offer information and the latest news of the tournament, news of the teams, the most outstanding plays and the summary of each fixture date.
‘We celebrate this new partnership and welcome the Bundesliga to Sky, where fans will be able to enjoy each fixture date, having the certainty of having the most extensive coverage of the competition live, as well as special programs and the most relevant news. We are very proud to be able to endorse our promise to offer the best sports competitions to our subscribers’, said Juan Carlos Muñoz, Head of Programming and Content at Sky Mexico.
