During July, the Chilean pay TV channel Canal de Futbol (CDF, Turner), is broadcasting a new E-Sports competition, which it called ‘Torneo LG Mortal Kombat 11’. The tournament is being broadcast on different digital platforms, such as Estadio CDF, Facebook, YouTube and Twitch, and on TV through CDF HD, Premium and Basic, and is being developed through PlayStation 4.
As officially reported by CDF, the tournament format is being developed together with ESL Gaming and WarnerGames, and brings 32 gamers together, who play Mortal Kombat remotely. The final of the tournament will take place this Thursday, July 30th. The champion will get a 55-inch LG C9 OLED TV.
‘We continue to innovate with new content from E-Sports, this time with a competition that will bring together the most important referents of Mortal Kombat 11 in Chile. Our aim is to continue providing entertainment to our audience, safely, with 100% remote and first-class broadcasts. This is part of our strategy to diversify the original production offer on our digital platforms’, explained Roberto Cisternas, Digital Executive Producer at Turner Chile.
The ‘Torneo LG Mortal Kombat 11’ is the third E-Sports competition broadcast on CDF. Previously, it has also broadcast the Entel E-Sports Tournament, where professional football players representing their clubs participated, an the winner team was Curico Unido. Then, the channel aired the ‘Entel E-Sports Celebrity’ Tournament, which featured some celebrities from the world of football and entertainment, who faced off in FIFA20 on PlayStation4.
